Kamesh Iyer is Carbon Markets Counsel for TransitionX clients and currently serves as Senior Advisor to the Global Carbon Council on strategic development initiatives. He is a recognized expert in voluntary carbon market (VCM) regulation and certification.

Previously, he led RWE’s Market Development team on the NorthH2 project, contributing to the 4 GW green hydrogen target for 2030. As Head of Climate Action at RWE Power AG, he managed a carbon credit portfolio valued at €400 million. At VERTIS/STX Commodities, he designed €50 million renewable energy strategies in Southeast Asia and facilitated multi-million-euro climate finance partnerships. He also directed international subsidiaries such as RWE Southeast Asia and RWE Power Climate Protection China GmbH.

With expertise in PPA negotiations, agile business model development, and participation in expert groups for the ADB and UNFCCC, Kamesh brings unique experience in aligning sustainability with corporate growth. He also advises clients on credible offset strategies under VCMI, ICROA, CCP, and ISO frameworks.
